COVID- 19 Update

With the imminent threat of the COVID-19 pandemic making its way into our communities, it is imperative that at-risk populations like the elderly are prepared to fend off this novel and potentially deadly disease. The most effective measures of containing the outbreak and preventing the contraction of the virus are simple enough.

Washing hands for at least 20 seconds multiple times per day and avoiding touching your face (mouth, nose, and eyes) are key strategies to avoid contamination from viral germs. Steering clear of large crowds (like supermarkets), and practicing social distancing and isolation are also highly effective at protecting populations from getting the disease.

In line with recent government warnings, we implore those 65 and older to stay home. Stock up on food, paper goods, and anything else you might need to remain self-sufficient at home, and consult with your physicians to ensure that prescriptions are filled in advance. For younger populations, please help your parents and grandparents to navigate this pandemic risk-free. We encourage you to take care of any chores and tasks they need assistance with so that they can remain safely at home.

Granny Nannies is here to assist in any way necessary to improve those-at-risks’ chances of avoiding the virus. In strict adherence to CDC guidelines, we are available to help you with any of the above-aforementioned tasks or to provide company to those who elect to remain socially isolated. We are also capable of providing safe and sanitized private living quarters to those who do not feel comfortable in a nursing home or at their own crowded residence.
